InterAction, in partnership with Washington National Cathedral’s Center for Global Justice and Reconciliation, and InterAction members Women Thrive Worldwide (formerly Women’s Edge Coalition) and Religions for Peace are co-founders of the WFDA and we invite you to attend Breakthrough: The Women, Faith, and Development Summit to End Global Poverty April 13, 2008.
Breakthrough will serve as a forum for international leaders from faith communities, governments, donors, and NGOs to convene and announce new commitments to engender global poverty alleviation efforts. The Summit will launch the WFDAs global campaign focusing on increasing political will and investments in women and girls as a priority in the fight against global poverty. The WFDA views the global commitment to the MDGs as an unprecedented historical opportunity to intensify and accelerate efforts for gender equality and women’s empowerment as key to achieving all the MDGs.
Join our distinguished Breakthrough Co-Chairs as they issue a call-to-action to assembled guests and all global citizens, urging them to join the campaign and get actively involved:
· The Honorable Madeleine Albright, Former U.S. Secretary of State
· The Right Honourable Kim Campbell, Prime Minister, Canada (1993)
· Her Excellency Mary Robinson, Former President, Republic of Ireland; Former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (1990-1997)
· The Reverend Doctor Ishmael Noko, General Secretary, Lutheran World Federation
· Sheikh Shaban Mabuje, Grand Mufti, Uganda
· Ashley Judd, Global Ambassador, YouthAids
Hear from our honorary Co-Chairs, who are offering important support for our efforts:

· Her Excellency Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, President, Republic of Liberia (Honorary)
· His Grace Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Anglican Archbishop Emeritus, South Africa (Honorary)

Dear Syed,
We very much appreciate your photo and have received many compliments! Thank you! I’ve discussed the possibility of bringing you here with my team and I regretfully inform you that we do not have the financial resources to bring you here. We have reserved the scholarship money for months to particular targeted people and unfortunately do not have any wiggle room.
We hope you will consider submitting photos for future InterAction photo contests.
Warmly,
Thu
